Do you know what some of the most famous diamonds are?

•  The Blue Hope diamond one of the most famous diamond weighs about 45 carats which was once owned by French king Louis XIV which was stolen during the French Revolution. It was then named the Hope diamond after it was bought by a London banker by the name of Henry Philip Hope. It is now the property of the Smithsonian Institution since 1958

•  One famous diamond is the "Mountain of Light" which weighs about 186 carats which has an extensive history being mentioned since 1304.

Another famous diamond with a fabled background is the pear-shaped Idol's Eye diamond weighing 70 carats. The story is told in which the Shiek of Kahmir stole the pear-shaped diamond from a statue's eye to pay for his daughter's ransom.
